Four local high school football teams remained unbeaten after Week Four games.
They are Huntington Beach (5-0), Pacifica (5-0), Rancho Alamitos (4-0) and Orange (5-0).
The clash that drew the most attention was the Oilers against the Yorba Linda Mustangs in a meeting of two 4-0 teams on Friday night.
In a tight battle, Huntington Beach relied on star quarterback Brady Edmunds, who threw a 26-yard scoring pass to Nicolas Navarette to get the home team a 29-25 victory in the closing moments of the game.

Pacifica built a 28-10 lead after three quarters and withstood a late charge by the Aliso Niguel Wolverines to get that 35-24 non-league win.

Iota League play starts for the Mariners on Friday, Oct. 2 when they host the Centurions from neighboring Cypress High. The Cents are 4-1 after losing 21-7 to Foothill High of Santa Ana.
The Panthers of Orange High had s struggle with the Etiwanda Eagles but prevailed 35-28 in a high-scoring contest.
Quarterback Star Thomas III completed 13 of 20 passes for 273 yards and three scores as well as rushing for 107 yards and two scores on 13 carries.

The Vaqueros will face another GGUSD rival on Friday, Sept. 25 in La Quinta (3-1).
La Quinta, which began the week with a 3-0 mark, lost Thursday night to Loara by 35-7.
