More than 130 employees, and possibly more, impacted
ORLANDO, Fla. – Two Orlando-area companies have reported plans to lay off a significant number of employees, according to documents obtained by News 6.
In a message to local officials, pharmaceutical company AssistRX revealed that it will perform a mass layoff starting on Nov. 30 at its center located at 2400 Sand Lake Road.
Per the notice, AssistRX officials said that around 86 employees may be affected by the action, though the layoff could expand to include 137 other employees between Jan. 4, 2027, and May 2027.
Workforce reductions are anticipated to begin
“Workforce reductions are anticipated to begin on or about September 30, 2026,” the message reads. “These separations are expected to be permanent.”
Officials also laid out which employees are expected to be impacted by the layoffs, including:
- 1 call center director
- 1 operations coordinator
- 13 pharmacists
- 57 pharmacy technicians
- 3 CoAssist program managers
- 1 pharmacy program trainer
- 5 pharmacy technician supervisors
- 5 warehouse operations assistants
In a letter to the Florida Department of Commerce, financial services company Hancock Whitney announced it is undergoing an organizational restructuring stemming from the acquisition and integration of One Florida Bank.

As a result of this restructuring, company officials wrote that layoffs are set to run from Dec. 1 – 31.
In all, 52 employees are expected to be let go from the location at 33 W. Pineloch Ave., officials warned.
“Notices have been provided to affected associates, and the layoffs are expected to be permanent,” the letter reads.
