CalOptima Health says it’s investing millions of dollars in outreach and enrollment assistance to help Orange County residents maintain Medi-Cal coverage as new eligibility requirements take effect in January 2027.
The “Keep Your Medi-Cal, OC” initiative includes $6.1 million in newly approved funding for a three-month program to train and certify organizations to assist local residents.
The Orange-based agency will also invest up to $4 million in a two-year pilot program, with grants supporting up to four organizations that provide individualized assistance.
The initiative is part of a $19 million commitment through CalOptima Health’s Community Reinvestment Program to expand Medi-Cal eligibility outreach through 2028. CalOptima previously committed $7.1 million to 14 community organizations providing enrollment and renewal support.
