Folarin Balogun pulled out of a move to Everton from AS Monaco after an on-again, off-again day ended without the United States striker making a transfer to the Premier League, according to multiple reports.
With Everton having agreed to a £40 million ($54 million) deal with Monaco for the 25-year-old on Monday, the move for the striker looked to be off earlier Tuesday due to concerns over the player’s medical.
But ESPNs of the deal, with the Merseyside club submitting an offer sheet to the Premier League seeking a two-hour extension as the transfer window was closing

With all signs indicating the deal was moving toward completion, Balogun reportedly walked away and left Everton’s training facility.
Neither club has commented on the status of the deal after the window closed at 3 p.m. ET (11:00 p.m. BST) on Tuesday.

Instead, it now looks like Balogun will remain at Monaco for the 2026-27 season.
Balogun scored 24 goals across 74 appearances since joining Monaco in 2023, including a stellar campaign in last year’s Champions League where he scored his first European goal against Bodo/Glimt in November of 2025 and had a brace in a 3-2 knockout-round loss to Paris Saint-Germain in February.
He was also a key figure for the United States in its run to the round of 16 at the World Cup, where the Americans lost to Belgium after Balogun controversially had a red-card ban overturned, allowing him to play against Rudi Garcia’s side in a 4-1 loss that ended the hosts’ run at the tournament.
