Three locals remained unbeaten after the start of league play for West Orange County high school football teams on Friday.
In the Delta League, Huntington Beach (now 6-0) defeated El Modena 24-21.
Orange went to 6-0 with a 42-14 victory over El Dorado in the Foxtrot League.
Rancho Alamitos defeated Saddleback 43-0 in the Sigma
Rancho Alamitos defeated Saddleback 43-0 in the Sigma League to go to 6-0. The Sigma League race is looking particularly interesting, with three contenders for the crown. Rancho is joined by Ocean View and Anaheim, both 5-1 so far.
Rancho and Anaheim will meet on Oct. 22; the Vaqueros will take on the Seahawks on Oct. 30. Ocean View plays the Colonists on Oct. 16.
The one team that lost its perfect record was Pacifica (now 5-1), which fell 14-11 to neighboring Cypress in the Iota League opener.

At the other end of the scale, Garden Grove lost 28-7 to district rival Los Amigos (5-1) in the Omicron League.
As the only team in the league with an overall winning record, the Lobos might be considered a heavy favorite for the title.
The Argonauts are 0-6, potentially headed for what might be the only winless season in the school’s over-100 years of gridiron play.
Also with an unusual campaign is Edison (2-4), which lost its Alpha League opener to Mission Viejo 42-18.
