Although Shannon Storms Beador has been an empty nester for years, providing for her three daughters was weighing on her mind when she was breaking down her finances with Vicki Gunvalson during The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 20, Episode 8. “I give money to my kids,” Shannon confessed to producers during Episode 8, and a production graphic listed that amount at $20,000 a month.
As she and Vicki worked through a budget worksheet, Shannon listed her other monthly costs to include $3,000 in Uber fares, more than $900 in healthcare fees, and $3,500 in utilities, plus renters insurance. But Shannon’s biggest expenditure by far was the rent for her Corona Del Mar home, which totals $10,500 a month.

“I just want to pay the money that I owe for taxes and everything. Like, I want to be squared up,” Shannon explained as she enlisted Vicki’s help.
Vicki advised Shannon to check her bank statements daily. “I’d manage it tightly,” she added. “That’s why I’ve been able to have three houses.”
As Shannon realized the extent of her expenses, she admitted, “I have to be better at it.”

Shannon Storms Beador explains why she’s hesitant to move to a new home
Shannon first moved into her Corona Del Mar rental in 2023. But as much as she enjoys the home, Vicki informed Shannon during RHOC’s Aug. 27 episode that $10,500 a month in rent is “not in [her] budget.”
Shannon opened up about why she was hesitant to move. “It’s just, I love it here,” she confided in Vicki. “It makes me happy.”
Still, Shannon acknowledged that her budget — including her rent — may not be realistic anymore. “As my spending habits are scrutinized, it’s going to be like, ‘What the f—k were you doing, Shannon?’” she admitted.

Vicki broke the fourth wall as she confessed to producers she was concerned about Shannon’s future, particularly when it came to money from her ex-husband, David Beador.
“Shannon is not frugal. And if this job ends, and David’s child support ends, then what?” Vicki pointed out. “I’m going to be there for her to help her, but I’m not going to give her money. I love Shannon, but she can’t come live with me.”

“I have created some debt…I put all my savings into Real for Real. Unfortunately, I had to shut my company down,” she explained, and reflected, “When I look back, I think, ‘I could have had a house. I could have invested in multiple other companies.’ My life would be different.”

Shannon first opened up about just how much money she was putting into her company during RHOC Season 15, which aired in October 2020. “So far, I have financed Real for Real with all the money that I personally had, and with any money that I received from my divorce so far,” she said at the time. “I got a total of $1.4 million after living a certain lifestyle for 17 years.”
What was Real for Real, Shannon Storms Beador’s company?
Shannon launched Real for Real in April 2018, just months after filing for divorce from David. The company began as a prepared food line, and was sold on QVC. She told Bravo Insider at the time that the concept was to create “affordable but flavorful low-calorie meals,” adding, “I think that you can make smarter choices without sacrificing the flavor and depriving yourself.”

As far as what she’ll do next, Shannon hinted more is to come during a September 2025 interview with Bravo Insider.
“[I] made a vow to focus on myself and maybe explore certain ideas that I’ve had in my head for many years and try to see what I can do,” she explained. “I make a joke, cause so many Housewives go, ‘Stay tuned for the next big thing.’ No. I’m not gonna say that, but there are things that I might wanna dabble in, so we’ll see.”
