The release of VisionQuest can come at one of the most critical moments for the MCU, possibly making it an even more integral part of Avengers: Doomsday, rather than being added to the list of spin-offs.

This makes VisionQuest an interesting concept for Marvel in the sense that it will reintroduce Vision into Marvel after all that happened to both Vision and Wanda in WandaVision. As of now, there are multiple issues that need to be sorted out as far as Vision is concerned, particularly following the incomplete arc that featured White Vision.
Moreover, the timing for the release of theVisionQuestseries may make the situation more intriguing than ever before because the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday will feature a whole bunch of characters from the Marvel Universe.
Anything released before the release date for Avengers: Doomsday will serve as a precursor for that movie by establishing its characters. It will not necessarily have to set up a lead-in for Doomsday but will just have to reintroduce Vision into the Marvel world in anticipation of the next Avengers movie.
VisionQuestcould finally pick up where Vision’s story was left off
Since his appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Vision has been subjected to numerous events that made his story extremely messy. The original Vision was killed by Thanos, while the other version was created by Wanda in Westview during WandaVision. This second version vanished as soon as Wanda destroyed the reality, leaving behind a third, generally called the White Vision.
This version, created by S.W.O.R.D., still has the memories of his predecessor, but he no longer has the connection to Wanda and the emotions that his previous incarnation had. The ending of WandaVision saw him flying off into space after getting those memories back.
Therefore, the show ends with a huge mystery of what happens to him later on. Therein lies the importance of VisionQuest, where the series would finally reveal what the hero has been up to and, more importantly, who he became after going through such a transformation.
While he still has the memories of his past self, he is no longer that same Vision who died inInfinity War. Therefore, this gives the creators something to play around with without having to immediately involve him in a grand-scale superhero event right away.
Wanda’s fate has been left somewhat of a mystery since Doctor Strange in theMultiverse of Madness.VisionQuestdoes not have to involve Wanda for that purpose because just giving the character an idea about the direction of his life can help make their interaction in the future much more intriguing.
The timing is important becauseAvengers: Doomsday is going to come afterwards. In case Marvel decides to use the character in the film, VisionQuest can provide the studio with an opportunity to revive the story of Vision before making him appear in the film.
Given how much time the character spent being absent from the MCU story arc, his appearance in the film will look much less random and more natural in that case.
However, it is possible that VisionQuest will not involve any direct reference to Doomsday. It can be a separate Vision story, like a spinoff series, without any involvement of the future film at all.
