Ahead of the November general election, the Southern California News Group compiled a list of questions to pose to the candidates who wish to represent you. You can find the full questionnaire below.
Current job title:Forensic Psychologist
Political party affiliation:Republican
Other political positions held:None
City where you reside:La Verne
Campaign website or social media:CasasforCongress.com
What is the single most important issue this district faces, and what can Congress, realistically, do to address it? (Please answer in 200 words or less.)
Affordability: California Democrats have made California into the highest cost of living. I intend to find fraud, audit all spending, and lower taxes at all levels.
Housing is increasingly unaffordable and remains top
Housing is increasingly unaffordable and remains top of mind for many Californians. What is one federal policy you’d push to make housing more affordable? How would you measure whether that policy was actually successful? (Please answer in 200 words or less.)
California Democrats,he high cost of housing in the Los Angeles area. I intend to investigate every aspect of this and lower housing costs
Concerns about the use of surveillance technology have intensified recently, often relating to license plate readers made by Flock Safety. How can Congress balance the use of these technologies in public safety cases while limiting infringement on an individual’s right to privacy? (Please answer in 200 words or less.)
All surveillance has positives and negatives
All surveillance has positives and negatives. This literally goes back to advances from Sept. 11, 2001. As this relates to FLOCK, more safeguards are needed at the federal and state levels to prevent abuse.
What should immigration policy in the U.S. look like five years from now? (Please answer in 200 words or less.)
There is no current data that we need any more immigrants at this time. On the contrary, the approximately 30 million illegal aliens must be removed under current law. Future law must ensure vetting of all legal immigrants. Americans should be safe in America. Jocelyn Nungaray (age 12) deserved better than to be gang raped and murdered (allegedly) by illegal aliens welcomed by Biden and Harris. The same is true of Laken Riley, Mollie Tibbetts, Sheridan Gorman, etc.
Would you like to see any changes
Would you like to see any changes to Medicare, Medicaid or prescription drug policies? What specifically would you change, cut or fund? (Please answer in 200 words or less.)
Yes. My team has senior health care advisors. We are going to audit the system, find fraud, and place fraudsters in prison
Anyone who believes that “Medicare for All” is a good idea should consider the following: Do you want your taxes to be doubled or tripled to pay for it? Why should people who can, but do not attempt to work, qualify? What about those who simply expect free government rent and housing? “Medicare for All” is a horrible idea.
Increasingly, we’re seeing communities push back on data
Increasingly, we’re seeing communities push back on data centers opening in or near their neighborhoods. Environmentalists complain about the amount of water and energy that data centers need to operate. Residents complain about relentless noise pollution. And others worry about losing agricultural land to these centers. On the other hand, the tech industry emphasizes the role of data centers in supporting cloud computing and artificial intelligence. As a policymaker, how would you balance the concerns of critics with desires to ensure that the U.S. remains a leader in innovation? (Please answer in 200 words or less.)
In the area I am running in, we need parks for kids and homes for people. It is an issue of limited land. Once I am in Congress, I will meet with all city and county leaders and achieve a way ahead for data centers, which repeats citizens’ concerns.
There is growing debate about whether political candidates or committees should be allowed to run ads created with the use of artificial intelligence. Recently, we’ve seen videos or images depicting a candidate’s political opponent in disparaging ways – and which some critics say falsely misrepresent their political rival. In your opinion, should there be a strict ban on AI-generated political content? If AI-generated content is permitted, should there be restrictions on its use? What should the terms be, if any? Explain your position. (Please answer in 200 words or less.)
What makes America GREAT is that we can
What makes America GREAT is that we can use AI. The First Amendment should ALWAYS be supported. The better question is whether candidates who have poor track records should consider not running.
How should the U.S. balance support for foreign allies with concerns about the country’s spending and the risk of entering “forever wars”? (Please answer in 200 words or less.)
I served in the Army for over 29 years. National security guides what America does as a global leader. And we can avoid “forever wars.”
The Trump administration is aggressively pushing to expand
The Trump administration is aggressively pushing to expand offshore oil drilling and production in California. Do you support this move? Why or why not? (Please answer in 200 words or less.)
We have the technology to safely drill offshore and protect the environment. California policies have negatively impacted “affordability.” California Democrats have maimed the idea of “affordability.” Offshore drilling is necessary until the next generation of energy is reliable and robust.
The polarization of politics in this country has only grown. If you’re the incumbent of this office, what’s an example of you bucking that trend and cooperating with colleagues you may have political or ideological differences with? And if you’re running to step into this office for the first time, what’s an issue you will work on with those across the aisle to tackle? (Please answer in 200 words or less.)
I am a Republican. And my team had
I am a Republican. And my team had Democrats who are tired of “Democrat craziness.” I will actually work to stop the infighting in Washington, D.C. Democratic politicians get rich, and the people they claim to represent do not have enough money to pay the rent. Rep. Nancy Pelosi made over $100 million; Rep. Gil Cisneros hates DOGE but invests in Tesla, etc.
Tell us about a time you’ve changed your mind on a political position. What was it, and what changed your mind? (Please answer in 200 words or less.)
I was a Democrat in the JFK era until I saw how weak Jimmy Carter was in retrieving American hostages. The Democratic Party has only gotten worse and turned into “Democrat craziness” since that time. I have never looked back.
Bonus question: What is the best book you’ve read this year? Explain why you found it compelling.
