Pacific Hospitality Group (PHG) will operate the Paséa Hotel & Spa in Huntington Beach for another five years amid an ongoing $17 million property-wide renovation.
PHG built the eight-story property in 2016 and has overseen the resort since.
The firm began revitalizing Paséa in 2024 with a rebrand of the hotel restaurant and bar into Lōrea, a refresh of its rooftop bar Treehouse on PCH and a redesign of the oceanfront Ninth Island Pool.
This first phase initially cost $5 million. PHG then invested an additional $12 million to renovate all 250 guestrooms and suites. The room refresh is being led by local design firm Stylo Haus.

Updates to the resort’s accommodations will be completed in 2027 while renovations to other amenities, including the Aarna Spa, meeting and event rooms, fitness center and the lobby, are scheduled for completion in early 2028.
“Long-term ownership gives us the ability to think beyond the next quarter or the next project and make decisions based on where we believe a property and its destination can go over time,” President Garrett Busch said.
Paséa Hotel & Spa is owned by a partnership led by the Busch family and Eagle Four Partners, along with other stakeholders.

Garrett Busch was named president of the Irvine-based hotel management group, founded in 1987 by his father Tim Busch, in 2022. He also ran his family’s winery, Trinitas Cellars, for eight years.
“That perspective has shaped our approach to Paséa from the beginning,” Busch added. “We’re investing not simply to refresh the resort, but to ensure it continues to evolve and remain relevant to the travelers and community it serves.”
PHG currently owns and operates 11 properties representing more than 2,400 rooms in its portfolio, including its Meritage Collection and branded hotels such as AC Hotel Irvine, DoubleTree by Hilton Irvine Spectrum and Hotel Zessa Orange County Airport, a DoubleTree by Hilton.

It recently opened the Denū Hotel & Spa in Downtown Phoenix on Sept. 21 as the newest 236-room addition to its Meritage group of properties. Paséa is also a part of this collection.

Daily room rates at Paséa range from $265 to $864 during the month of October, at press time.
