Newport Beach-based Chipotle Mexican Grill has partnered with Palantir Technologies to develop a new food safety program that monitors pest incidents, employee illnesses and other factors, WIRED reported.
“Chipotle is piloting a new Food Safety Risk Management Platform designed to provide a more consistent and centralized view of food safety risk across our restaurants,” Chief Corporate Affairs and Food Safety Officer Laurie Schalow said in a statement.
The new partnership follows Chipotle’s removal of potentially contaminated jalapeños from its supply chain in July when public health authorities reported a Salmonella outbreak in Minnesota and other states.
